CRIM (Centre de recherche informatique de Montréal) was founded in 1985 by a group of companies and universities who sought to create a neutral organisation that would bring together the producers and users of IT, thus accelerating the transfer of new technologies to the marketplace. For over 20 years, CRIM, an NPO, has played a major role in reaching the many benchmarks that have characterised the development of the IT sector in Québec: the first Internet network, the development of the multimedia sector, making Montréal an international centre for speech recognition, etc. CRIM’s activities are developed according to the policies and strategies spearheaded by the Ministère du Développement économique, de l’innovation et de l’Exportation (MDEIE), CRIM’s principal financial supporter. |
