Steven Chamberland, Chairmain of the Department of Computer and Software Engineering at École
Polytechnique de Montréal since 2010, and professor since 2001, is an active researcher in the
field of computer and mobile networks. He previously held a position as Director, Network
Architecture at Bell Canada and as professor at the Department of electrical engineering at École
de technologie supérieure (ÉTS).
From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Chamberland was the Director of the Bell Chair in Networks Architecture
and a founding member of the Groupe de recherche en réseautique et informatique mobile (GRIM) which
is currently the most important Canadian research centre in the field.
Mr. Chamberland received the Electrical Engineering degree and the Ph.D. degree in operations
research from École Polytechnique de Montréal in 1994 and 1998, respectively.
