Francine Riel began her career as international relations assistant for Société Radio-Canada (CBC). She subsequently served as assistant to the general manager of the City of Saint-Laurent and as senior manager of a small business.

To better understand the IT shift, she joined CRIM in 1993. Leveraging her great organizational skills, she was appointed assistant to the executive vice-president and then assistant to the president and CEO on special CRIM projects.
