Daniel Blanche appointed CRIM president and CEO

Montréal, November 26, 2009

On behalf of the board of directors of the Centre de recherche informatique de Montréal (CRIM), chairman Marc-André Roy is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Blanche as CRIM’s president and chief executive officer. Mr. Blanche will take up his duties on January 11, 2010.

Mr. Blanche has 28 years of experience in the areas of business development and operations management in the information technology and communications (ITC) sector. Until recently, he was president and CEO of Triton Electronik, a contractual provider of electronic design and manufacturing services.

“We are very pleased to welcome Daniel Blanche in his new position. His profile, experience and personality fit very well with CRIM’s management philosophy,” said Mr. Roy. “He is the ideal person to manage CRIM’s current operations and development in accordance and continuity with the organization’s unique market positioning.”

Mr. Blanche said: “Working for an organization offering such a wealth of ideas and talent will be an exciting challenge for me as a manager, team leader and spokesperson. My role will be to serve and contribute to the development and prosperity of Quebec’s ITC sector.”

Prior to his tenure with Triton Electronik, Mr. Blanche served as vice-president of global operations for Emerson Electric for four years. He previously worked for Nortel for more than 15 years, including the last seven as vice-president of energy equipment marketing and global sales.

Mr. Blanche was granted the certified administrator designation (ICD.D) by McGill University. He also obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration (marketing and international) from HEC Montreal in 1981 and 1986.

Mr. Roy added: “In conjunction with Mr. Blanche’s appointment, Yves Sanssouci, who has led CRIM over the past 13 years and contributed to its progress by leveraging his leadership, vision and entrepreneurial skills, will be taking his well-deserved retirement early next year. He will continue to participate in the organization’s activities from time to time, in line with the mandates entrusted to him by the chairman and by the CEO.”
