R&D at CRIM

CRIM plays a strategic role in Research and Development (R&D) for Québec companies that develop and use IT products or services.

The primary raison d’être of CRIM R&D is the development of cutting edge technologies and their transfer to Québec-based companies to further the commercial success of these businesses and to contribute to creating high tech jobs. Most CRIM R&D projects involve the transfer of technologies, expertise and knowledge, training graduates and networking.

A first line player in meeting the needs of small and medium businesses, CRIM has developed unique expertise in assessing the needs of each of its business clients, designing and implementing projects to satisfy their technological requirements or constraints, as well as meet and respect their deadlines and budgets.

Four R&D teams

High-calibre scientific personnel

CRIM’s scientific personnel are recruited according to research needs in the industry. Its teams are led by multidisciplinary specialists, and joined by academic researchers and Master’s and doctoral students. Its researchers work in collaboration with universities, businesses and organisations to design and conduct research projects.

A scientific approach

CRIM sets itself apart by its approach, which complements academic research as a liaison for the transfer of technologies.

Characteristic elements that distinguish the work of CRIM’s R&D teams are:

  • The source of the needs – stemming primarily from the industry
