The Development and Internet Technologies team’s mandate is to develop and maintain the expertise needed to respond to the needs of CRIM researchers, members and clients. Their expertise is directed at several fields, including: Web solutions, graphical user interfaces, architecture and best practices in software development.

The team also offers mentoring and coaching services in emerging technologies not readily available from the private sector.

Expertise and fields of application

The activities of the team focus on two main areas:

  • Collaborate on technology transfer processes with other R&D teams, as well as with university and business members
  • Assist businesses and organisations in developing the expertise and acquiring methods and technologies emanating primarily from industry.

The team conducts watch activities and develops expertise in the following fields:

  • Mobile Applications
  • Web architectures and frameworks
  • Web development methodologies and strategies
  • Web 2.0 technologies

The targeted fields of application cover:

  • Online training (eLearning) and the management of digital portfolios
  • Content management

These fields are favoured for two specific reasons: they provide the appropriate balance between the needs of industry and organisations and through ongoing watch activities, assist in pointing to the most promising emerging technologies and methodologies.
