3D immersive virtual environment for visual rehabilitation


When a person becomes visually impaired, intensive rehabilitation is required to learn the skills necessary to accurately interpret sensory cues. Virtual reality (VR) can provide a safe and rich world for rehabilitation by rendering a complex environment.

VR can stage challenges that can be faced with less stress than in the real outdoor world. Our current objective is to build VR outdoor scenes to assist the interpretation of sensory cues.
