About CRIM

PTZ, Intelligent Pan/Tilt/Zoom Camera for Security Applications


Summary: The goal of project PTZ was to develop an intelligent Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera for video surveillance software. The project was pioneered by the VideoWave Networks firm. CRIM served as a partner for the development and implementation of algorithms for tracking and recognizing objects. PTZ was financed in part by Programme Alliance Precarn-CRIM.

This project claimed the 2006 OCTAS prize for technlogical innovation, awarded to both CRIM and VideoWave Networks by the Fédération de l'Informatique du Québec (now Réseau Action TI).
