Luffa Technologies and CRIM want to make your business meetings “smarter” thanks to speech recognition!

Montréal, June 11, 2018 – CRIM is proud to announce the beginning of a long-term collaboration with Luffa Technologies, a Startup that offers innovative solutions combining voice technologies and artificial intelligence to make organizations more efficient, particularly through the automatic transcription of meetings.

Luffa Technologies called on CRIM's experts in automatic speech recognition (ASR) and natural language processing (NLP) to contribute to the development of its business meeting management tools.

CRIM has already collaborated with Luffa Technologies on a past project. The quality of the results and the ability of CRIM's experts to clearly identify the client's needs and deliver a concrete and adapted solution convinced Luffa to commit to a longer-term collaboration with CRIM.

In short

  • The first project, planned for 2018-19, will aim to develop approaches to optimize automatic speech recognition and text transcription, mostly by improving recording quality and optimising text transcription.
  • CRIM's combined expertise in speech recognition in the two main business languages of Luffa Technologies' clientele (French and English) will help make their meeting transcription app more efficient and accurate.
  • The integration of images and video content into meeting transcripts is planned.
  • The Luffa app is currently under development and will be released soon.

This collaborative project will allow Luffa Technologies to benefit from the advanced expertise in audio and textual analysis developed at CRIM over the past several decades. For CRIM, this project will offer new challenges for existing technology in the field of speech recognition and automatic text transcription. The data used in the project will improve the performance of CRIM's current tools and lead to the development of new solutions adapted to the needs of Luffa Technologies' customers.

In addition, this collaboration will provide an opportunity to use CRIM's internationally recognized speech recognition and audio analytics technologies to solve concrete business problems. CRIM is proud to help support Luffa Technologies' SMB clients by providing them with state-of-the-art tools that will make them more efficient and competitive.
