CRIM is very proud to announce that two of its researchers were recently awarded a grant through the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada's (NSERC) Discovery Grants Program. These grants are being awarded to more than 2,295 researchers in all disciplines of science and engineering, such as biology, chemistry, advanced materials engineering or astrophysics.

  • Fehmi Jaafar, researcher in cybersecurity, will work on securing the sustainability of the Internet of Things.
  • Jahangir Alam, researcher in automatic speech processing, will work on robust speaker recognition in real application scenarios.

In addition, both are among the 499 early career researchers who have been awarded additional funding to assist them in their work. These grants are a tribute to the importance of CRIM's current fields of research, and they will undoubtedly lead to significant innovations in these two cutting-edge technological sectors!
