Popularity Analysis - Which programming language is the most requested by the industry?

Abstract: In this paper we describe an analysis of the most popular programming languages required for software engineers by software companies through the analysis of information collected from Twitter. We considered tweets related to software engineers research taking a time frame of two years and nine months (between 2011-2013). The analysis confirms that Java is the most required programming language by software companies. Furthermore, there are other results related to other programming languages used for the Web as well as mobile application development.
