André Lapointe, M.A.Sc.

R&D Director

As Director Technologies in an applied information technology (IT) research centre where artificial intelligence is at the heart of its practice, Mr. Lapointe seeks to stimulate innovation in organizations by means of IT. To this end, he carries out consulting and knowledge transfer activities in addition to being in charge of designing and implementing many IT R&D projects carried out by CRIM personnel and their collaborators. Thanks to his extensive knowledge of the Québec IT ecosystem and its key players, Mr. Lapointe also engages in many networking activities with other partners in the ecosystem, be they academics, public organizations, major corporations, SMBs or start-ups.

Mr. Lapointe holds a master’s degree in software engineering and was a consultant with travel companies and university research centres for over eight years before joining CRIM in 2012. His areas of interest are vast and include web architectures, emerging technologies, data science, artificial intelligence and software engineering.
