Postdoctoral researcher – IT Security

Full time position

CRIM (http://www.crim.ca/en) is an applied research and expertise centre in information technology, dedicated to making organizations more effective and competitive through the development of innovative technology and the transfer of leading edge know-how, while contributing to scientific advancement.

Job description

CRIM is looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a period of at least one year, renewable. The candidate must have experience in computer security and, ideally, in other related fields such as blockchain, the Internet of Things and the use of machine learning in computer security.
 
The ideal candidate must be able to work on computer security research topics and supervise graduate students in an open environment where collaboration with experts from other areas of  research is valued.
 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-level research in computer security, particularly in the context of the Internet of Things.
  • Participate in the supervision of students.
  • Publish in specialized journals and major conferences.
  • Write and participate in the writing of grant applications for new computer security research projects.
  • Participate in industrial projects and collaborate with CRIM researchers in other fields related to artificial intelligence.

Required qualifications and experiences

  • PhD in one of the following fields: electrical engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning;
  • Exceptional academic record and proven research ability;
  • Good publication history over the last two years;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Preferred qualifications (Assets):

  • Well developed network of collaborators;
  • Knowledge of Python, C/C++ and Java programming languages;
  • Knowledge of communication and security protocols related to the Internet of Things;
  • Practical experience in machine learning applied to computer security;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French.
