On December 3, the Broadcast Accessibility Fund (BAF) announced funding for four innovative projects to address significant gaps in broadcast accessibility. CRIM is pleased to be one of the recipients. This funding from the Fund will help advance our work in the area of accessibility.
CRIM’s VD-Qual project – Assistant à la rédaction de vidéodescription en français et en anglais – will receive a grant of $134,405. The VD-Qual project aims to create a series of diagnostic and correction tools for videodescription texts to improve their quality in English and French. CRIM intends to deploy a demonstration version of VD-Qual on an accessible website, enabling users to submit a videodescription, either in plain text or with timestamps, view a featured videodescription and download the results for personal use.
