CRIM researcher receives a Discovery Grant

July 5, 2021

We are proud to announce that Gilles Boulianne, senior researcher in speech processing at CRIM, is one of the recipients of a 2021 Discovery Grant awarded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

This five-year grant will allow Gilles Boulianne, who holds more than 20 years of experience in applied research in the field, to continue his work on the development of deep structured speech models.

On June 15, 2021, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, announced investments of more than $635 million in science, research and engineering to support more than 4,800 leading researchers and their teams.

Gilles Boulianne joins other CRIM researchers currently supported by Discovery Grants: Jahangir Alam, Mohamed Dahmane, Fehmi Jaafar and Alexandre Petrenko.

Congratulations to Gilles Boulianne for this recognition, which paves the way for new innovations in this cutting-edge field of expertise!
