CRIM researcher awarded Discovery Grant

July 5, 2021

We are proud to announce that Gilles Boulianne, a senior researcher in speech processing at CRIM, is one of the recipients of a 2021 Discovery Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

This 5-year grant will enable Gilles Boulianne, who has more than 20 years of applied research experience in the field, to continue his work on the development of deepstructured speech models.

On June 15, 2021, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, announced investments of more than $635 million in science, research and engineering to support more than 4,800 leading researchers and their teams.

Gilles Boulianne joins other CRIM researchers who are currently recipients of Discovery Grants: Jahangir Alam, Mohamed Dahmane, Fehmi Jaafar and Alexandre Petrenko.

Congratulations to Gilles Boulianne on this recognition, which paves the way for further innovations in this cutting-edge field of expertise!
