Since 2013, Jahangir Alam has been working as a Researcher in Automatic Speech Processing at CRIM. He carries research on speaker, speech and emotion recognition.

He received his B.Sc. degree (2002) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh, and M.Sc. (2009) & Ph.D. (2014) degrees in Telecommunications from INRS-EMT (Institut national de la recherche scientifique - Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications), University of Québec, Montréal, Canada.

His research interests include robust feature extraction for speaker, speech and emotion recognition, single and multi-microphone signal processing, binaural signal processing for hearing aids, voice activity detection, speech enhancement, speech dereverberation, acoustical beamforming and source localization.
