A data science researcher, Jean-François Rajotte joined CRIM in 2016. He is a specialist in massive data analysis and data mining and his projects often take place in the framework of the smart city.

Before joining CRIM, Jean-Francois completed two postdoctoral programs and later worked as a data scientist in industrial settings. His analytical experience covers several statistical and machine learning tools, particulary Python and, for distributed computing, Apache Spark. He is the co-founder of the Apache Spark Montreal meetings and co-organizer of the Big Data Montreal meetings.

A sampling of his fields of interest includes: statistical analysis (frequentist and Bayesian), applied machine learning and neural networks, time series, distributed computing and data visualization.
